Petr Skládal joined Masaryk University in Brno in 1988 after receiving the MSc degree. He completed the PhD degree in 1992 and in 1999 was appointed as the Associated Professor at the Department of Biochemistry where he heads the Laboratory of Biosensors. In 2006, he founded also the Nanobiotechnology Laboratory at the National Centre of Biomolecular Research. His research interests are focused on bioanalytical chemistry, enzymology, biointeraction studies in real time, biosensors and immunosensors, piezoelectric sensors and nanobiotechnology, development of biosensor prototypes and related software. Teaching activities include lectures on biosensors, applied enzymology and methods for conjugation and immobilization of biomolecules.
